Jeff Taylor, CEO of Monster.com, to Speak at UMass Amherst Commencement May 27

AMHERST, Mass. - Jeff Taylor, chief executive officer of Monster.com, will speak at the undergraduate Commencement of the University of Massachusetts, Sun., May 27 at 10 a.m. in Warren P. McGuirk Alumni Stadium. Taylor will receive a bachelor’s degree from University Without Walls during the ceremonies. Keynote speaker at the event is Emmy Award-winning actor Kelsey Grammer. Finance major Karen Borsetti, of Beverly, is student speaker.

Taylor founded The Monster Board, an online job-search site, in 1994. Monster.com, the global online career network, was formed in 1999 through the merger of The Monster Board and Online Career Center.

In addition to serving as CEO of Monster.com, Taylor is also the chief executive officer of TMP Interactive, a unit of TMP Worldwide, an online recruitment firm and one of the world’s largest recruitment advertising agency networks. Taylor joined TMP Worldwide in 1995, when it acquired his specialized recruitment advertising agency, Adion Inc.

Taylor attended the University from 1978-83 before launching his career, and recently completed the requirements for an individualized bachelor’s degree through UWW. His area of concentration is "Human Capital and Marketing in the New Economy."

In April, Taylor was the Eleanor Bateman Alumni Scholar in Residence at UMass. During his time on campus, he met with students, visited classes, and delivered a public lecture.
