Jamison tapped to head Outreach Development

Jera Jamison, Director of Development for UMass Extension, has been picked to head the newly formed Outreach Development Office.

In her new capacity, Jamison is responsible for working with the directors of most Outreach units -- UMass Extension, Arts Extension, Continuing Education, University Without Walls and the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) Education Institute -- to develop and implement a comprehensive Outreach Development Plan.

Key initiatives will focus on annual campaigns, grant support from foundations, corporate sponsorships and targeted campaigns for scholarship and program endowments. Jamison will be responsible for serving as the Outreach liaison within University Advancement.

She is joined in this effort by Jessica Dizek, who has served as development associate for Extension for more than a year.

Jamison has more than 20 years experience in organizational development and fundraising and holds an M.S.S.W. from Columbia University.

Dizek has five years experience in organizational fundraising, holds a B.S. in business administration and is currently enrolled in the Professional Masters in Business Administration program through Continuing Education.
