Forde to Join Springfield Panel Discussion on ‘Fake News’

Kathy Roberts Forde, associate professor of journalism history and literary journalism, will participate in a panel discussion titled “Fake News? Finding the Truth” on Sunday, Nov. 4 at 3 p.m. at the Springfield Museums, 21 Edwards St., Springfield.

The panel is part of a daylong program titled Painting, Politics, and Performance: Thomas Hart Benton’s America. 

Moderated by Brooke Hauser, editor of the Daily Hampshire Gazette, the panel focuses on the Benton painting “New England Editor,” which is on loan from the Boston Museum of Fine Arts.

Other panel participants are Jill Kaufman, arts and culture reporter for NEPR; and Wayne Phaneuf, editor of The Republican newspaper.

Forde, a former department chair of journalism, is a Chancellor’s Leadership Fellow for 2018-19.
