Two faculty members in the Department of Music and Dance will perform in concert on Wednesday, March 2 at 12:20 p.m. in Bezanson Recital Hall.
Eric Berlin will perform on trumpet and Nadine Shank on piano. The duo will be performing music composed for and closely associated with Eric Berlin''s favorite trumpet players. “Intrada,” by Joseph Turrin, was written for Philip Smith of the New York Philharmonic. Robert Suderburg’s “Chamber Music VII: Ceremonies for Trumpet and Piano” is associated with Charles Schleuter, principal trumpeter with the Boston Symphony Orchestra. “Scherzo Virtuoso,” by Vladimir Jurowski, was written for Timofei Dokshitser, a Russian Virtuoso trumpet player. The jazz-influenced “Toot Suite,” by Claude Bolling, is associated with world-famous trumpeter Maurice Andre.
The concert is free and open to the public.
