Faculty members from the Department of Music and Dance will perform French music in concert on Tuesday, Feb. 22 at 8 p.m. in Bezanson Recital Hall.
The concert is the third in a five-part series titled “Tuesdays in Bezanson.” As the music calls for a variety of instruments, the performing roster includes Fredric T. Cohen, oboe, William Hite, tenor, Eduardo Leandro, percussion, Salvatore Macchia, contrabass, Lynn Klock, saxophone, Christopher Krueger, flute and Estela Olevsky and Nadine Shank, piano.
The composers represented at the concert are Theodore Dubois, Florent Schmitt, Charles Koechlin, Henri Dutilleux and Maurice Ravel. Though not all familiar to concert goers, they made important contributions to the development of French and contemporary music.
Admission is $10 general public, $5 for students, senior citizens and children under 18. Tickets are available at the Fine Arts Center Box Office (413-545-2511).
