Evolutionary Biologists Peter and Rosemary Grant to Present Sinauer Associates Lecture

March 18, 2014

Evolutionary biologists Peter and Rosemary Grant of Princeton University will speak on “40 Years of Evolution on the Galapágos” when they present the Sinauer Associates Distinguished Scientist Lecture on Friday, April 4 at 4 p.m. in 137 Isenberg School of Management.

The Grants have spent four decades studying the Darwin’s Finches of the Galápagos. First made famous by Charles Darwin, the finches are a group of 15 species of passerine birdswhose beaks are highly adapted to different food sources.By continuously tracking finch populations over 40 years, the Grants have uncovered the causes and consequences of significant events leading to evolutionary changes in species.
