Three non-credit, 10-week English as a Second Language workshops are being offered by the Division of Continuing Education this semester.
Not intended for beginners, the workshops are aimed at students who wish to improve their English skills.
The sessions are:
"Spoken English for Everyday Life in America" (ESL 25), offered Tuesdays and Thursdays 7-9 p.m. from Sept. 30. 25 through Dec. 11 (except for Nov. 11 & 27). The cost is $325.
"American English Pronunciation Improvement" (ESL 35), which meets Mondays and Wednesdays, 7-9 p.m. from Sept.. 29 to Dec. 8 (except Oct. 13). The cost is $325.
"English as a Second Language: Writing for Academic Purposes" (ESL 40), offered Wednesdays, 6-8:30 p.m. from Sept. 29 to Dec. 8 (except Nov. 24). The cost is $325.
All students who wish to register for ESL workshops must have an interview before classes begin. Students interested in ESL 25 also must take a placement test.
