An exhibit of University of Massachusetts Press books and catalogs is on display in the Du Bois Library through Oct. 18.
Founded in 1963, UMass Press publishes works of scholarship as well as books of more general interest for a broader audience. The imprint is overseen by a faculty committee, whose members represent a broad spectrum of departments.
Since its inception, the UMass Press has sold more than 1.8 million volumes to customers worldwide. Today it has more than 950 titles in print. Eight employees, along with student assistants and outside sales representatives, produce and market approximately 40 new titles annually.
The press is a member of the Association of American University Presses and maintains editorial offices in at the Amherst and Boston campuses.
The books and catalogs in the exhibit represent a small sample of the press output over the past decades.
