Demski leaves for post at UNC-Wilmington

Steve Demski, director of UMass Extension, has been appointed vice chancellor for public service and continuing studies at the University of North Carolina-Wilmington.

In his new post, Demski will oversee extended education, community outreach services, UNCW-TV, continuing education, conference services, community relations, marine trade services and the small business and technology development center at the 11,000-student campus. He begins his new duties Aug. 16.

Demski was named director of UMass Extension in 2000 after serving for three years as interim vice provost for Outreach. He previously directed of the Office of Graduate and Executive Programs in the School of Management.

He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in environmental engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and an MBA from the Isenberg School of Management.
