CWC Offering Two Support Groups for Female Survivors of Sexual Violence

The Center for Women and Community is offering the following support groups for female survivors of sexual violence:

“Support Connect Heal: Healing for Survivors of Sexual Violence,” is for survivors seeking to cope, connect and heal with other survivors. With a focus on coping, group discussions will include topics such as shame, self-blame, relationships, breaking silence, anger, loss, self-worth and empowerment. This group will provide a safe, supportive and non-judgmental space for survivors to share their experiences.

“Writing Group: Healing for Survivors of Sexual Violence,” is intended for survivors seeking to cope, connect and heal with other survivors through writing and group discussions. Group discussion topics will include the after effects of trauma, coping skills, and empowerment. The group will use creative writing activities to explore these topics. This group will provide a safe, supportive and non-judgmental space for survivors to share their experiences. You do not have to be a writer to participate in this group. The format of the group is to use writing as a tool for healing.
