More than 70 community agencies, representing human services, the environment, law/advocacy, government, and arts and culture, will be on hand to discuss volunteer and internship opportunities at the Fall Community Service Fair on Thursday, Sept. 23, 11 a.m.-2 p.m. in the Lincoln Campus Center Auditorium.
The event, sponsored by the Office of Community Service Learning at Commonwealth College, seeks to connect students, faculty, and community organizations to promote exciting community service opportunities throughout the local area.
The event is designed to provide resources for both the community and the campus. The Community Service Fair will offer students a chance to establish placements for their community service learning courses and will highlight volunteer opportunities for all campus members. In addition, the fair is a chance for faculty interested in developing a community service learning component in their courses to talk with representatives from non-profit agencies about possible partnerships.
University employees who are interested in volunteering or learning about services provided by local organizations are also encouraged to attend.
