Campus Community Encouraged to Enroll in Cancer Prevention Study
The campus community is encouraged to assist the American Cancer Society by enrolling as participants for the Cancer Prevention Study-3 (CPS-3) from 11 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 20, in the Student Union Ballroom.
The nation’s largest study of the causes of cancer, CPS-3 is the only longitudinal study of its kind. The information provided will help American Cancer Society researchers better understand the lifestyle, environmental and genetic factors that cause or prevent cancer.
Anyone between the ages of 30 and 65 years who has never been diagnosed with cancer other than non-melanoma skin cancer is eligible to participate. Those interested are asked to schedule an appointment in advance of the Nov. 20 event by visiting at www.cancer.org/cps3NE, or by calling 1-888-604-5888. Following a short on-site enrollment appointment, participants will be sent surveys about their health, lifestyle habits and family history that may be completed at home throughout the study.
More information about CPS-3, including additional enrollment sites and dates across Massachusetts, can also be found at www.cancer.org/cps3NE, or by calling 1-888-604-5888.
