Avanti Wind Quintet to perform with students in concert

Faculty members of the Avanti Wind Quintet will be joined by their advanced students in concert on Sunday, April 3 at 8 p.m. in Bezanson Recital Hall.

The concert will feature Mozart’s “Serenade in Bb, K.V. 361, ‘Gran Partita.’” Listeners may be familiar with the “Adagio,” movement number three, which is used extensively in the motion picture “Amadeus.”

Performers are professor Laura Klock, horn, and her students Rachel Hands, Kelli Kirkman and Megan Riccio; professor Fredric Cohen, oboe, and his student Hilary Phillips; professor Michael Sussman, clarinet, and his students Jennifer Cornetta, John Ferraro and Gregory Genatossio; Stephen Walt, bassoon, and his student Deniz Ersoy and professor Salvatore Macchia, contrabass.

Admission is $10 general public, $5 for students, senior citizens and children under 18. Tickets are available at the Fine Arts Center Box Office (545-2511) or at the door of Bezanson Recital Hall on April 3 at 7:30 p.m.
