Ethnobotany and the culture of psychoactive and medicinal plants are the focus of Psymposium 2014: “The Nature of Psychedelics” on the weekend of April 12-13 in Mahar Auditorium.
The event begins with an opening night reception at 6:30 p.m. followed by a welcoming address from Stockbridge School of Agriculture professor Lyle Craker at 7:30 p.m.
Jag Davies of the Drug Policy Alliance will offer an introduction at 7:45 prior to the screening of “Neurons to Nirvana.”
From 9:30-10 p.m. there will be a question-and-answer session with a panel of speakers including Dennis McKenna, Hamilton Morris, Alexandre Tannous, Clint Canal, Lawrence Millman, Lily Ross, Joshua Wickerham and Lex Pelger.
On Sunday, the doors open at 9 a.m. From 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., there will be presentations on the nature of psychedelics.
Tickets are $20 in advance and $30 at the door.
