UMass Amherst News Round-up ... UMass Chemist Will Collaborate On NSF Project
AMHERST, Mass. - University of Massachusetts chemistry Professor Dhandapani Venkataraman, in conjunction with Cornell faculty members Stephen Lee and Frank DiSalvo, has received a highly competitive Collaborative Research in Chemistry grant from the National Science Foundation. The $750,000 grant will fund a project entitled "Multi-dimensional Organic Metals, Crystal Design and Superconductivity." The research team led by Venkataraman will be responsible for the synthesis of specialized materials; DiSalvo’s group will perform measurements on the materials, and the Lee group will work on the theoretical modeling of the materials. Only six of these grants are given annually across the nation.
