AMHERST, Mass. – The STEM Bridge for Noyce Scholars program is offering scholarships to University of Massachusetts Amherst students who want to be science or math teachers at the middle or high school levels.
Although the campus’s next major fund-raising kickoff is still several years away, the administration is quietly laying the groundwork for The Campaign for Amherst and its preliminary goal of $350.76 million.
Sonia Nieto, professor of Language, Literacy and Culture in the Department of Teacher Education and Curriculum Studies, received the 2005 Outstanding Educator in the English Language Arts Award during the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE) annual convention held Nov. 17-20 in Pittsburgh.
