The Safe Drinking Water Act passed in 1996 requires that public drinking water suppliers send out annual Consumer Confidence Reports outlining the quality of drinking water provided to consumers. The report details where your drinking water comes from, what it contains and the risks our water testing and treatment are designed to protect. The 2004 Water Quality Report was mailed to all billed water customers by July 1, 2005. It is also available on the Town of Amherst website (see link below) or copies may be requested by calling the Amherst Department of Public Works at 256-4050.
Four longtime professors have been selected to present the 2005-06 Distinguished Faculty Lecture Series. All lectures are at 4 p.m. in the Massachusetts Room of the Mullins Center, and are free and open to the public.
Robert J. Mailloux, research professor in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department, has received the 2005 Distinguished Achievement Award from the Institute of Electrical & Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Antennas and Propagation Society (APS).
AMHERST, Mass. – The parking services office at the University of Massachusetts Amherst has installed new parking pay stations in two of its visitor parking lots, one near Boyden Gymnasium on Commonwealth Avenue and the other at the Robsham Visitors Center off Massachusetts Avenue.
The mood was upbeat Sept. 1 as civic, business and academic leaders marked the beginning of a new academic year at the annual Community Breakfast co-hosted by the campus and the Amherst Area Chamber of Commerce.
