AMHERST, Mass. – Police at the University of Massachusetts Amherst are implementing a pilot pedestrian safety program this fall that will use police cadets to help manage one of the busiest crosswalks on campus.
Symptoms of extreme jet lag may result from the body overshooting as it tries to adjust to particularly large leaps forward in time, suggests new research by computer scientist Hava Siegelmann that models circadian rhythms in rats.
“Steam lines, water lines, electrical duct banks – they’re all the hidden necessities of campus construction,” says Jason Venditti, Facilities and Campus Planning project manager for much of the utility work going on around campus. “The only time you notice is when things go wrong.”
