AMHERST, Mass. - Two leaders in the College of Engineering at the University of Massachusetts Amherst have been honored by University President William Bulger. Joseph I. Goldstein, dean of the College of Engineering, was named a Distinguished Professor, and Michael Malone, head of the department of chemical engineering, was named the Ronnie and Eugene Isenberg Distinguished Professor of Engineering. The appointments were made following approval by the University''s Board of Trustees at its recent meeting at UMass Boston. The designations recognize them for outstanding academic distinction. They were recommended for the honor by Chancellor John V. Lombardi and Provost and Senior Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Charlena Seymour.
