AMHERST, Mass. – Frank Trusdell of the U.S. Geological Survey''s Hawaiian Volcano Observatory will present the annual R.W. Bromery Lecture in the department of geosciences at the University of Massachusetts Amherst on Wednesday, May 11, at 4:30 p.m. in 231 Herter Hall. Trusdell''s talk is entitled “Volcanic Hazards: Coexisting with Volcanoes.”
AMHERST, Mass. – John McCarthy, professor and director of the graduate program in linguistics at the University of Massachusetts Amherst , has been elected a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. A total of 196 fellows were elected this year.
