AMHERST, Mass. - Gov. W. Mitt Romney visited the UMass Amherst campus today to outline his capital plan for the University system and participate in a round-table briefing on science education and research.
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has awarded the campus nearly $1.5 million over three years to combat underage drinking and drug abuse on campus through innovative screening and intervention services for high-risk drinkers. UMass Amherst is one of 12 colleges and universities nationwide to receive such a grant.
