New WORLD Theater''s summer youth program Project 2050, will perform a new production entitled "environ-mentality" on Saturday, July 11 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, July 12 at 3 p.m. in the Rand Theater.
The production is the culmination of a series of summer workshops and performances in which local youth, scholars and professional artists create new theater works based on an overarching issue defined by the young participants. This year''s production turns its lens on the environment as it intersects with the prediction that people of color will be the majority population in the U.S. by the year 2050.
Project 2050 will explore what it means when discrimination takes the form of pollution and what can be done to stop environmental injustice.
Tickets are available through the Fine Arts Center Box Office (5-2511) for $12 general public, $8 for low-income patrons and $5 for students with ID.
