AMHERST, Mass. – A long-planned Mardi gras theme at an annual event was recently transformed into a benefit fund-raiser by the Massachusetts Higher Education Consortium, raising $7,000 for victims of Hurricane Katrina.
The Friends of the Fine Arts Center are going Hollywood as the group hosts the 17th Annual Benefit Gala and Auction on Saturday, Feb. 4 at Club Casablanca, also known as the Lincoln Campus Center Auditorium.
Effective Jan. 1, the mileage reimbursement rate for employees who use their cars on University business will decrease to 44.5 cents per mile from the revised rate of 48.5 cents per mile set in September, according to controller Andrew P. Mangels.
