“The Makanda Project,” a tribute to the late multi-instrumentalist and educator Makanda Ken McIntyre arranged by John Kordalewski, will be performed on Monday, April 3 at 7 p.m. in the Augusta Savage Gallery, 101 New Africa House.
James Hepokoski of Yale University will give a talk, “Reflections in Beethoven’s Brook: A Discussion of Beethoven’s ‘Symphony No. 6,’ second movement,” on Thursday, April 6 at 12:20 p.m. in Bezanson Recital Hall.
The string faculty, including Elizabeth Chang, Kathryn Lockwood and Astrid Schween, will be hosting and conducting a performance/masterclass workshop on Sunday, April 9 from 4-6 p.m. in Bezanson Recital Hall.
Baroque trumpeter Crispian Steele-Perkins will present a masterclass on Friday, April 7 from 1:30-3:30 p.m. in Bezanson Recital Hall. Steele-Perkins will then present a demonstration and concert on the “History of the Trumpet,” presented with the aid of historical instruments at 4:30 p.m.
