The University of Massachusetts Amherst International Risk Management Committee has suspended student participation in all Education Abroad programs in Israel for the Fall 2014 semester. The timing of the decision was motivated by a student who was to begin a program at Tel Aviv University next week.
Muscle physiologist Edward Debold at the UMass Amherst School of Public Health and Health Sciences recently received a grant from the American Heart Association to support studies to uncover the molecular mechanisms of skeletal muscle fatigue.
