About

Dr. Lisa M. Troy directs the Nutrition Assessment Laboratory (NAL) to achieve its mission: to advance and disseminate new knowledge about the role of diet and physical activity on healthy aging.

The NAL aims to advance the field of nutrition assessment through research and application of methods developed to assess diet quality, physical activity, and health in our laboratory. To accomplish our aims, the NAL is a laboratory suite with equipment to analyze human biological samples, take anthropometric measurements, and conduct health and nutrition telephone interviews.

NAL lab members include undergraduates, graduate students and collaborators from UMass Amherst and outside institutions.

Our laboratory is involved in a number of projects.
