UMass
Amherst is a member of Five Colleges, Incorporated, a consortium
which unifies the faculties, facilities, and course offerings of
the University with those of nearby Amherst, Hampshire, Mount Holyoke,
and Smith Colleges. Over 5,300 courses are available at no added
cost.
THE
FIVE COLLEGE MUSIC PROGRAM

Take
classes and perform in ensembles at Amherst, Hampshire, Mount
Holyoke and Smith Colleges at no additional fee.

Participate
in special performances such as the Five College Choral Festival.

Access
the course offerings and combined music faculty of over 100
scholars and artists with an impressive range of specializations.

Participate
in the academic, cultural and extracurricular activities at
the other four schools.

Use
the free bus system linking all of the campuses.
THE
FIVE COLLEGE EARLY MUSIC PROGRAM
The Early Music Program is coordinated by Robert Eisenstein, a member
of the Folger Consort in Washington, D.C.

Explore
your interest in music of the Middle Ages, Renaissance and Baroque
eras.

Study
with distinguished performers and scholars offering individual
and class instruction on period instruments (recorder, lute,
viol, and others), and academic courses available through individual
music departments and the Five College Medieval Studies Program.

Perform
in specialized ensembles at various levels of advancement.
