STRING DAY is a day devoted to string playing at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, Fine Arts Center Music wing.

The morning will include a performance & Master Class by string faculty Elizabeth Chang (VIOLIN), Kathryn Lockwood (VIOLA), Astrid Schween (CELLO) and Salvatore Macchia (BASS).
The afternoon will be devoted to STRING DAY ORCHESTRA, directed by the string faculty and the UMass Chamber Orchestra, Opus One. STRING DAY ORCHESTRA is for everyone of all ages, so bring your instrument whether you’re a student, parent, private & classroom string teacher or orchestra director.
Senior Orchestra Performance

Advance Registration is $25 (lunch included) REGISTRATION FORM
Late applications accepted on a space available basis
Registration on the day is $35 (lunch not included)
Teachers & Parents admitted free of charge (lunch not included*)
* Lunch Charge $10 available if booked with registration

Schedule:
9am: Registration in Room 149 (Fine Arts Center Music wing)
9.30am: Concert in Bezanson Recital Hall by Faculty Members
10.30-12.15pm: Master classes for Senior Participants
10.30-12.15pm: String Sectionals for age 12 and under participants in Rooms   152 & 154
12.30pm: Lunch in Room 149 and Meet the Sponsors
1-3pm: STRING DAY Orchestra rehearsal with UMass String Students from the Opus One Chamber Orchestra in Bezanson, for age 13 and older participants
1pm: Video Hour for age 12 and under participants
2pm: Rehearsal for mini-performance for age 12 and under participants in   Room 152
3pm: Mini-Performance
3.30pm: Farewells and Raffle Prizes are drawn
