Located in a lovely New England town 175 miles northeast of New York City and 90 miles west of Boston . The New York Times called Amherst one of the nation's "Ten Best College Towns." The campus provides a rich cultural environment in a rural setting close to major urban centers.
Includes 25,600 students and 1,169 faculty in 10 schools and colleges offering 93 undergraduate majors, 73 masters programs and 51 doctoral programs.
Participates in the Five College system; courses can be taken, at no extra cost, at Amherst, Hampshire, Mount Holyoke and Smith Colleges, which are linked by a free bus system. The Five Colleges offer a wealth of academic, cultural and extracurricular activities, accessible to all who study in the area. |
