Saxophonist Jonathan Hulting-Cohen appears as concerto soloist, recitalist and chamber musician. He has performed concertos with the Philadelphia Classical Symphony, Adrian Symphony Orchestra (MI), and Sequoia Symphony Orchestra (CA). Hulting-Cohen has given the world premiere of three concerti, by Stacy Garrop, Felipe Salles, and Brett Wery, and recorded the Garrop in 2018 with the UMass Amherst Wind Ensemble. He presented solo recitals at the World Saxophone Congresses in Zagreb, Croatia and Strasbourg, France, the Mississippi University for Women, and the Edinburgh (Scotland) Fringe Festival, in addition to touring the South and Midwest with his 2018 solo project, Timbre|ine.

As chamber artist, Jonathan has performed with David Shifrin at Chamber Music Northwest, Rudresh Mahanthappa at Princeton University, and under John Adams and David Robertson at Carnegie Hall. Co-founder of The Moanin’ Frogs saxophone sextet, he won First Prize at the 2018 MPrize Chamber Arts Competition, entered a management contract with Classics Alive Artists, and released the group’s debut album on Teal Creek Music. With the Admiral Launch Duo, Jonathan commissioned and premiered twenty works for harp and saxophone nationwide. The duo’s debut album will be released on Albany Records.

Jonathan Hulting-Cohen earned his BM and MM under Donald Sinta at the University of Michigan and is a Conn-Selmer and D’Addario Woodwinds Artist. He is Assistant Professor of Saxophone at University of Massachusetts Amherst.
