Presenting Opus One Chamber Orchestra, String Chamber Groups & All-University Orchestra

On Nov. 9, 14 and 15, the UMass Amherst Department of Music and Dance presents concerts by the Opus One Chamber Orchestra and ensembles from the UMass String Program, both coordinated by Elizabeth Chang, and the UMass All-University Orchestra, directed by Morihiko Nakahara.

On Thursday, October 26, the UMass Jazz Lab ensemble, directed by graduate conductors  Dann Friedman and Zach Bartolomei, present a performance of pop/jazz standards and contemporary works.

On Monday, October 30, ensembles from the department’s brass program present a concert of chamber works titled “Brass of UMass.”

UMass Amherst Symphony Orchestra, Symphony Band to Present Late-October Concerts

On Monday, October 23, the UMass Symphony Band, under the direction of Matthew Westgate, will present their first concert of the fall semester.

On Wednesday, October 25, the department will present the debut of Morihiko Nakahara as conductor of the UMass Amherst Symphony Orchestra.
