Graduate String Quartet Program

The Graduate String Quartet Program offers:

Teaching Assistantships to 4 violinists, 2 violists and 2 cellists to form two graduate string quartets.  Availability of TA is subject to current enrollment. Current availability for Fall 2018 is for one violinist, one violist and two cellists.

Generous stipend, most medical insurance, plus full graduate tuition.

One concert per semester in Bezanson Recital Hall, plus satellite concerts around the region.

Coachings with the string faculty plus visiting artists masterclasses.

Graduate String Quartet

TA includes involvement with (and/or placement in) Opus One conductor-less Chamber Orchestra and UMass Amherst Symphony Orchestra.

Teaching assistantships include 10 hours per week of service to the Department, of which five are devoted to the String Quartet and five to another area, to be determined at a later date.
