TROMBONE
; LECTURER

Greg Spiridopoulos

Greg Spiridopoulos has been the principal trombonist of the Albany Symphony Orchestra, as well as a member of the Portland Symphony Orchestra and the Boston Philharmonic Orchestra since 2001. In 2011 he was appointed principal trombone of the Glimmerglass Festival Orchestra and second trombone of the Rhode Island Philharmonic Orchestra.

As an active free-lancer in the greater Boston area, Mr. Spiridopoulos has frequently appeared with the Boston Symphony Orchestra, Boston Pops, Opera Boston, the Handel and Haydn Society, Boston Lyric Opera, Boston Ballet Orchestra and many others. An enthusiast of historical performance, Mr. Spiridopoulos custom-built his own Classical Period replica alto and tenor trombones. He has recorded for Albany Records, Boston Brass Series, Mark Records, Capstone Records and Arsis Audio.

A native of Vienna, Virginia, Mr. Spiridopoulos has taught at the University of New Hampshire and maintained a private teaching studio. He received his Master of Music degree from Boston University where he studied with Ronald Barron, and his Bachelor of Music degree from Michigan State University where he studied with Curtis Olson and Philip Sinder, and was a proud member of the Spartan Marching Band. Mr. Spiridopoulos also studied with the late Milton Stevens.
