Rob Schultz received his Ph.D. in Music Theory from the University of Washington in 2009. He previously taught Music Theory and Aural Skills at the University of Massachusetts Lowell and the University of Washington. |

Dr. Schultz's research interests include musical contour theory, the phenomenology of musical time, and the analysis of post-tonal, popular, and non-western musics.
Dr. Schultz has presented his research at various regional, national, and international conferences across Europe and North America. His work has been published in Music Theory Spectrum, Music Theory and Interdisciplinarity (musik.theorien der gegenwart Vol. 4), and is forthcoming in Music Theory Online. He was also a founding editor of the online peer-reviewed journal Analytical Approaches to World Music (AAWM), and currently serves as Secretary of the New England Conference of Music Theorists.
