HORN; PROFESSOR
Currently principal horn with the Springfield Symphony Orchestra, Laura Klock has also performed as
guest principal horn with orchestras from Portland, Maine to Portland, Oregon.

At age 22, Ms. Klock was appointed to the faculty of the University of Massachusetts, Amherst where she is
Professor of Horn, and a member of the Avanti Wind Quintet and the Infinity Brass Quintet. As a chamber musician,
Ms. Klock has also performed with the Mohawk Trail Concerts, the Musicorda Festival, the Monadnock Music Festival,
Chamber Music Plus in Hartford, the North Country Chamber Players, and the New England Bach Festival in Marlboro, VT.
She has been a guest artist in Taiwan and in the U.S. and British Virgin Islands, and as a member of the Brass
Ring Quintet, she was a featured artist at the 8th International Brass Festival in Verona, Italy. In the summer
of 2003, Ms. Klock was invited to Bogota, Columbia for a one-week residency as guest principal hornist with the
Bogota Philharmonic Orchestra, and in the summer of 2005, she participated in the tribute concert for Louis J.
Stout at the 37th International Horn Society Symposium in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
Her teachers have included Louis J. Stout, Harry Berv, and Thomas W. Murray. She can be heard in recording
on the Open Loop, Crystal, and Gasparo labels.
