Thomas Vacanti, choreographer & professor at UMass Amherst, presents two of his newest ballets, Rinforzare and The Crimson Petal. Set to the music of Michael Torke, Rinforzare takes a contemporary look at the structures and manners of baroque court dances. The Crimson Petal, a premiere, is a collaborative venture between Vacanti and video designer Mark Piaget, and explores current and personal interpretations of Lord Alfred Tennyson's poem "Now Sleeps the Crimson Petal."
This project funded in part by a Project Funds Grant from the University of Massachusetts Amherst College of Humanities and Fine Arts.
