AWARDS
Undergraduate Merit Scholarships begin at $500. Scholarships are
offered based, in part, on an applicants audition for admission.
Graduate
Teaching Assistantships carry a stipend of $6,140 in return for
a 10-hour-per-week work assignment. In addition, tuition, curriculum
and health fees are waived. Residual mandatory fees (normally in
the range of $600 per year) remain the responsibility of the graduate
student. Assistantships are available in a variety of undergraduate
courses, applied areas, class piano, accompanying, music theory,
ensembles, arts administration and marching band.

To be considered for University-wide Financial Aid scholarships,
grants, loans and work-study employment, students must file the
Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). For priority consideration,
the FAFSA should be filed between January 1 and February
1 using the school code (002221) and listing the University
of Massachusetts Amherst.
