Symposium on Conferencing
The Office of Programs and Services for ALANA Students (OPSAS) in collaboration with the Five College Inc. Multicultural Affairs Committee and the UMass Career Services Office, will be hosting a one day symposium on “Conferencing” Saturday October 17, 2009 from 10:00am -4:00pm Herter Hall Room 227 UMass Amherst . OPSAS is excited that this year will make the third year that its programs will be involved in sending student leaders to student development conferences. OPSAS hopes that students on the UMass campus as well as the 5-college area will utilize this one day symposium as a rewarding and useful tool for individual and professional development.
Keynote speaker Dr. Franchon Glover, from the National Black Student Leadership Conference, will kick the day off with an inspiring and inviting talk. The day will progress with workshops that will help students prepare for various student leadership conferences. Students will also have the opportunity to hear from career services and current students who have attended previous conferences to learn the do’s and do not’s. Finally, we will end the symposium with an opportunity for the 5 college students to get together during a networking session. This Symposium is open to all Five College Students and Meals will be provided! See The Poster>
