HerbFest

HerbFest is our annual celebration sponsored by UMass students in the Spring session of Plant and Soil Sciences 280, Herbs, Spices, and Medicinal Plants.  During the course of the semester, each UMass student in the class selects a specific area of plant/herb of interest and develops a presentation; demonstrating the ways in which herbs, spices, and medicinal plants are used in society.  Projects generally include herbal tinctures used in medicine, baked goods flavored with spices, and an assortment of candles, soaps, and aroma-therapy products. Herbfest 2012 is scheduled for Tuesday, April 24th in the UMass Student Union Ballroom. The event is open to the general public from 11:30am-1:30pm. Other herbal workshops and presentations will be posted as scheduled.
