Instructions for disabling Chime in Netscape 2 and 3
Note: it is not necessary to disable Chime if you want to use RasMol
as a helper application only for a
single session.
Windows
- Quit Netscape.
- Create a new subdirectory named inactive in
\netscape\plugins.
- Move the file npchime.dll from \netscape\plugins
to \netscape\plugins\inactive.
To reinstate Chime, quit Netscape and reverse the last step above.
Macintosh
- Quit Netscape.
- Find the Netscape folder.
- Create a new folder in the Netscape folder named Plugins (inactive).
- Drag Chime from the Plugins folder to
the Plugins (inactive) folder.
To reinstate Chime, quit Netscape and reverse the last step above.
