About Our Students

  • Emily in Oaxaca Kelly Ann Cowdery joins us from the University of Akron where she was an AmeriCorps VISTA volunteer and Coordinator of Service-Learning. She also served as Community Relations Coordinator at Southern Methodist University and VISTA volunteer. She graduated from Texas Christian University as an Early Childhood Education major. Her assistantship will be in the office of Community Service-Learning.
  • Emily Nemeth graduated from Denison University with a BA in Spanish and Educational Studies. After graduation she worked for City Year Columbus -- a literacy-based AmeriCorps program that works with Columbus school children who are below grade level in reading. In fall 2005, Emily began her masters degree in the Higher Education Program and took on an assistantship with Residence Life as an Assistant Residence Director (ARD). During the summer after Emily's first year in the masters program, she worked as an intern with Ohio Campus Compact (OCC). Emily is now in her second year in the Higher Education Program.
