Nanoscale Photonics
My research explores use of single molecules as nanoscale materials for photonics and optoelectronics applications. Our specific focus area exploits ink-jet printing techniques for generating uniformly z-oriented semiconducting polymer nanostructures with a number of interesting optical properties. We are currently exploring photonic quantum information processing applications of these novel species.
| Research Interest | Potential Application |
|---|---|
| Polymer-based nanophotonics | Single-photon based opto-electronic devices |
| Optical spectroscopy of nanoscale confined systems | Guiding design of novel organic systems for photonics applications |
| Single-molecule optoelectronics | Generation of electrically-pumped single-photon source |
| Single-molecule/nanoparticle spatial manipulation | Molecular sorting and development of nanoscale phased-antenna arrays |
