Jazz Ensemble I concert
Jazz Ensemble I, directed by Jerffrey Holmes, will perform on Monday, Nov. 23 at 8 p.m. in Bowker Auditorium.
The repertoire will feature compositions by current and former faculty and students, including Jeff Holmes, Fred Tillis, Dave Sporny, Lester Franklin Newton, Ric Hirsch, Alex Lee-Clark, Brian Thomas and Chris Lapidas. There will also be a “Zappa Medley” and tunes by Joe Zawinul and Oliver Nelson.
Guest artists include Steve Sonntag, trumpet, and Eric Blanchet, conductor.
Tickets are $3 for UMass students; $5 for other students, senior citizens, and children under 18 years of age; $10 for the general public. Tickets are available at the Fine Arts Center Box Office (545-2511).
