Gov. Deval Patrick has ordered that the U.S. and Massachusetts flags be lowered to half-staff at all state buildings from sunrise until sunset on Nov. 6-7 in honor of two Marine Corps captains killed in Afghanistan.
Flags will be lowered Nov. 6 for Capt. Kyle R. Van De Giesen of North Attleboro, and on the following day for Capt. Eric A. Jones of Westchester, N.Y. and Mashpee.
Both men died Oct. 26 in a helicopter collision that claimed 11 lives.
