Double Reed Day set for Nov. 7
Double Reed Day will feature oboe and bassoon players on Saturday, Nov. 7 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Bezanson Recital Hall.
The event is hosted by Music and Dance Department professors Fredric T. Cohen, oboe, and Stephen Walt, bassoon. Other performers include Robert Williams of Detroit Symphony Orchestra, principal bassoon; Robert Sheena of Boston Symphony Orchestra, oboe and English horn; Nora Post, oboe technician; Stuart Dunkel, oboe; Frank Wangler, bassoon.
Attendees are encouraged to bring their instruments for double reed workshops at the end of the performances.
Tickets are $20 for UMass and Five College students and $15 if paid for in advance; $30 for adults or $25 in advance.
