IdeaLab to help turn sustainability passion into product
Calling all Green Guerillas, Conservation Crusaders, and Soldiers of Sustainability: Later this spring, you'll have an opportunity for two weekends of natural guard basic training and mentoring in developing and commercializing your innovative ideas. It's called IdeaLab and it's going to be intensive. And you have to apply by March 1 for the March 30-April 1 and April 20-22 Friday-Sunday workshops.
IdeaLab: The Sustainable University is an intensive workshop for undergraduate or graduate students passionate about protecting and preserving the planet and interested in learning how to create an innovation or viable business that addresses critical sustainability issues on our university campus.
Participants will learn how to develop and commercialize products and innovations that promote and support productive and environmentally sustainable universities. Campus sustainability staff will be on hand and will be seriously evaluating the practicality and effectiveness of applying your ideas on campus.
Those applying by the March 1 deadline may be contacted for a short phone interview. Accepted individuals will be notified after the application deadline. The workshop cost is $100, however the fee will be waived for UMass students who complete the workshop (both weekends). A refundable deposit will be required at registration. Scholarships are available for Five College students, and students from the Springfield area.
