PSIS graduate students win presentation awards
Two graduate students from Plant, Soil and Insect Sciences won Turfgrass Presentation Awards at the joint meeting of the American Society of Agronomy, Crop Science Society of America and the Soil Science Society of America, held Nov. 1-5 in Pittsburgh.
Jason Lanier placed second in the oral and third in the poster competitions. Lindsey Hoffman was the third place winner in the oral competition.
They were among 32 graduate student competitors in the oral and poster presentations sponsored by the C5 Turfgrass Science Division of the CSSA. Major topics in both basic and applied turfgrass research areas included turfgrass management, physiology, pathology and breeding.
Lanier’s faculty advisor is J. Scott Ebdon and Hoffman’s is Michelle DaCosta.
