Open sessions scheduled with visiting reaccreditation team
Open sessions for faculty, staff and students to discuss reaccreditation issues with a team from the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) are planned as part of the delegation’s site visit from Nov. 1-4.
The meetings with members of the NEASC external evaluation team will be held Monday, Nov. 2 at 4 p.m. as follows:
Faculty: Amherst Room, 1009 Campus Center
Staff: 904 Campus Center
Students: Reading Room, across from the Blue Wall
Once every 10 years, each college and university in the United States must be accredited by one of the regional accrediting bodies recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. The process involves a self-study assessing the institution’s current standing and future plans, followed by a site visit by an external evaluation team. University of Vermont President Daniel Mark Fogel is chairing the NEASC visiting team.
The NEASC accreditation standards, as well as the campus’ self study submitted to NEASC, may be found at www.umass.edu/neasc.
