Alumni Association to honor 6 at State House ceremony
The annual Distinguished Alumni Awards will be presented April 16 at a luncheon in the State House. President Jack Wilson and Chancellor Robert C. Holub are scheduled to speak prior to the awards presentation.
Four alumni, a professor emeritus and an honorary alumnus will receive the award, the highest honor bestowed by the Alumni Association.
Media consultant and former network news executive Edward M. Fouhy ’56, and Margaret Jablonski ’81,’84 M.Ed., vice chancellor for student affairs at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, will receive Distinguished Alumni Awards.
The Distinguished Alumni Service Award will be presented to Michael Foley ’72, assistant professor of medicine at Tufts University School of Medicine and a gastroenterologist at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center in Boston.
Attorney Carmina Fernandes ’99, will be presented the Distinguished Young Alumni Award and the Distinguished Faculty Award will be given to Ting-wei Tang, professor emeritus of Electrical and Computer Engineering.
The Distinguished Honorary Alumni Award is going to Joseph G. Gavin, Jr., retired director of Grumman Aerospace Corporation.
