Reorganization task force creates blog to solicit comment from campus

The Reorganization Task Force has created a blog for members of the campus community to share comments, ideas and proposed plans concerning the proposed academic reorganization.

The chancellor asked our task force ‘to provide advice about his proposal on college reorganization and to explore as well the possibility of a College of Arts and Sciences, or any other alternative organizational structure that it finds appropriate for the campus,’” said Jane Fountain, who chairs the task force. The Faculty Senate extended the task through a set of motions adopted at the Feb. 9 general faculty meeting.

To post a comment, click on the title “To Members of the Campus Community” and this will redirect you to the comments section. At the bottom of the page, click to log in using your OIT username and password used for Spire or other OIT accounts. Once you have logged in, it will return you to a page where you can enter your comment. All comments will be visible by all users. Each of your comments will be identified by your username, but the task force asks that you include your full name and department in each comment.

“We actively seek input and shared information from our academic community members and bodies who are generating ideas and plans concerning how best to move forward in response to the proposed reorganization,” said Fountain. “This blog is strictly for sharing ideas and information. Although we do not have the capacity to respond directly to every question or comment, we will carefully consider the insights shared through this collaborative information-sharing medium.”

Fountain said comments can also be e-mailed to any of the Reorganization Task Force members:
